The Flow & Volume Laboratory of the Hellenic Institute of Metrology has developed a novel web application, for the calibration of tanks and vessels using open source software. The application is available via EIM website.

Web Application for the Calibration of Tanks and Vessels

The application aims to automate the calibration of tanks and vessels. Using this application, users can perform tank calibration with the following simple steps:

1. Insert general information regarding the following parameters: Customer, Calibration technical officer, Tank, Reference standard and Enviromental Conditions.
2. Insert measurement data by uploading an Excel file.
3. Methodology.
4. Statistical processing of measurement data and selection of the optimal solution.
5. Print Calibration Table and Uncertainties according to GUM methodology (BIPM et al, Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), 2nd ed., International Organization for Standardization, Genève, 1995).
